Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 22, 2026 · RecoveryMaster — Surrey, BC, Canada
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the RecoveryMaster website and services. By accessing our website, requesting a diagnostic, submitting a device, accepting a quote, or using any of our services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our website and services immediately.
1. Services Provided
RecoveryMaster provides professional data recovery, device repair, diagnostics, text message extraction to PDF, and related technical services for computers, mobile devices, storage systems, and electronic equipment (“Services”).
All Services are subject to device condition, technical feasibility, and customer approval. Submission of a device does not guarantee successful repair or data recovery. Some cases may prove technically unrecoverable or unrepairable despite our best efforts; where this applies, Section 3 (No Data, No Fee Guarantee) governs payment.
2. Diagnostics and Approval
A free diagnostic may be provided to assess the issue and determine recovery or repair likelihood. In certain complex cases, additional evaluation time may be required, and we will let you know if this applies to your case.
A clear quote will be provided before any paid work begins, communicated in person, by phone, or by message (text, WhatsApp, email, or similar). No paid work will proceed without customer authorization, as described in Section 6.
3. No Data, No Fee Guarantee
If data recovery is attempted and is unsuccessful, the customer pays nothing for that attempt — no diagnostic fee, no partial charge, no admin fee. This guarantee applies to all data recovery cases where recovery was not achieved.
Payment for successful data recovery is due once the customer has reviewed and confirmed the recovered files are present and accessible, prior to release of the media or files.
Device repair and text message extraction services are quoted and billed separately from data recovery, with pricing disclosed and agreed before that work begins.
4. Customer Responsibility and Ownership
By submitting a device, you confirm that:
- You are the legal owner of the device and its contents, or you have full authorization from the legal owner to submit it for service;
- The device does not contain content that is illegal to possess or distribute in Canada; and
- The information you provide to us about the device and the issue is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge.
RecoveryMaster reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service, without charge for work not performed, if ownership cannot be reasonably verified or if we reasonably believe the request violates applicable law.
5. Quotes and Price Agreement
This section governs how pricing is agreed and what happens after a quote is accepted.
5.1 How quotes are given
A quote may be provided in person, by phone, or by message (text, WhatsApp, email, or similar). It reflects our best assessment of the work based on the diagnostic performed and the information available at that time.
5.2 Acceptance
A quote becomes a binding agreement once you confirm acceptance, in any of the same formats (in person, by phone, or by message). We will not begin paid work before receiving this confirmation. We recommend keeping a copy of your quote and your acceptance for your own records; we retain ours as well.
5.3 Price is firm once accepted
Once a quote is accepted and work has begun, the agreed price is final. We will not renegotiate or reduce an agreed, unchanged quote based on pricing offered by other providers, quotes obtained elsewhere after the fact, or a change of mind after work is complete. We encourage every customer to ask questions, compare options, and confirm they are comfortable with the price before accepting a quote — not after the job is done.
5.4 Legitimate exception — scope changes
If, once work begins, we discover that the device's actual condition differs materially from what was assessed at diagnostic (for example, additional or different damage found mid-repair), we will contact you with a revised quote and obtain your fresh authorization before continuing or before any price change applies. You are never charged more than originally agreed without this separate approval.
5.5 Discretionary goodwill adjustments
In rare and genuinely exceptional circumstances (for example, documented medical or humanitarian hardship), RecoveryMaster may, at its sole discretion, offer a goodwill reduction to an agreed price. This is offered voluntarily as a courtesy, is not owed under these Terms, is not available on request as a matter of course, and does not obligate RecoveryMaster to offer the same adjustment in any other case.
6. Risks and Limitation of Liability
Data recovery and repair services involve inherent risks, including the possibility of partial or complete data loss, device instability, or permanent hardware failure, regardless of the skill and care applied. RecoveryMaster uses industry-standard tools and controlled lab procedures to manage these risks.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RecoveryMaster is not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage, manufacturer defects, or conditions present before the device arrived at our lab;
- Data that was already unrecoverable before the device arrived at our lab;
- Unsuccessful recovery due to the severity of prior damage or wear; or
- Data loss or further damage caused by the customer's actions before or during service (for example, continued use of a failing drive or prior DIY repair attempts).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer protection legislation. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim arising from our Services is limited to the amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
7. Pricing and Payment
All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes. Accepted quotes are governed by Section 5 above and are not subject to revision after work has begun, except as described in Section 5.4 or 5.5.
Payment is due upon completion of approved Services unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods are disclosed at the time of invoicing. Devices may be retained until payment in full is received.
For text message-to-PDF extraction, standard extraction from a working phone with accessible messages starts at $149; pricing for complex cases is quoted after a free diagnostic.
8. Warranty
Warranty coverage applies only to eligible repair services, as stated on the final invoice, and for the period stated there. Warranty does not cover:
- Accidental damage occurring after repair;
- Liquid damage occurring after repair;
- Unauthorized modification or third-party tampering after repair;
- Software issues unrelated to the repair performed; or
- Normal wear and tear, or misuse.
Data recovery services do not include long-term storage of recovered data. Customers are responsible for backing up their data promptly after delivery. Recovered data held on our media may be deleted after 7 calendar days unless alternative arrangements are agreed in advance.
9. Device Storage and Abandonment
Customers are responsible for collecting their devices promptly after being notified that service is complete. Devices not picked up within 30 calendar days of notification may incur a storage fee of $5/day. Devices unclaimed after 90 calendar days may be treated as abandoned and disposed of or recycled in accordance with British Columbia regulations. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you using the information you provided before taking this step.
10. Privacy and Confidentiality
RecoveryMaster handles customer information and recovered data with strict confidentiality. Personal information is collected and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy legislation (PIPEDA and BC PIPA). We do not sell, share, or rent customer data to third parties. Data is processed exclusively at our Surrey, BC lab.
For text message extraction services, all data is permanently wiped from our systems after customer confirmation of delivery, with a Certificate of Destruction available on request.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the RecoveryMaster website — including text, graphics, logos, images, and software — is the property of RecoveryMaster or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian and international copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without express written permission.
12. Changes to These Terms
RecoveryMaster may update or modify these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes apply prospectively — to devices submitted and quotes accepted after the change — and do not alter the terms of a quote you already accepted. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
13. Contact and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law, disputes arising from our Services are subject to the courts of British Columbia.
Before initiating a formal dispute, chargeback, or legal proceeding, please contact us directly — we value our customers and will make a good-faith effort to reach a fair resolution:
